Inya Mitrovic, MA
President
Inya is a creative, proactive, culturally agile, and solutions-oriented negotiator, strategist, and senior Indigenous relations professional. She brings extensive experience working with Indigenous Nations, industry partners and proponents, and government agencies in British Columbia. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of British Columbia and a Master’s degree in Conflict Analysis and Management from Royal Roads University.
Inya specializes in strategy development and execution, Indigenous negotiations (commercial and regulatory), economic development, and high-stakes relationship management. Prior to founding MRC Strategies Inc., she served as an integral member of TC Energy’s Indigenous Relations team, contributing to the advancement of the company’s interests on its proposed LNG pipeline projects (Coastal GasLink Pipeline and Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Project) and toll-regulated projects in northeastern British Columbia. She also played a key role in developing the benefit agreement negotiation strategy for TC Energy’s formerly proposed Energy East Project.
Since establishing her consultancy in 2017, Inya has supported numerous Indigenous, industry, and government clients. She notably served as Lead Negotiator and Strategic Advisor to Chief Councillor Marvin Yahey of Blueberry River First Nations from 2017–2022. From 2021–2025, she led non-regulatory Indigenous relations and benefit agreement negotiations for the Ksi Lisims LNG project as Lead Negotiator and Strategic Advisor to Western LNG.
Inya’s experience navigating complex issues and competing interests has reinforced her commitment to strategic thinking, careful attention to optics, and the pursuit of sustainable, long-term solutions.
