Inya Mitrovic, MA
Founder & President
Inya is a creative, pro-active, culturally-agile, and solutions-orientated negotiator and strategist, with professional experience working with Indigenous communities, industry, government, and the non-profit sector. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of British Columbia and a Master’s degree in Conflict Analysis and Management from Royal Roads University.
Inya has successfully worked with over 38 Indigenous communities in British Columbia to-date, from both an industry and Indigenous perspective, and has demonstrated strong and reliable skills in strategy development, negotiations, economic development, and relationship management, supporting business and project advancement. Prior to starting her own consulting business, Inya was an integral member of TC Energy's Indigenous Relations team, where she successfully contributed to advancing the company’s project interests on its proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) pipeline projects (Coastal GasLink Pipeline & Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Project) as well as the toll-regulated projects in northeastern British Columbia. Furthermore, Inya was integrally involved with developing the Benefit Agreement negotiation strategy for TC Energy's formerly proposed Energy East Project.
Since establishing her consultancy in 2017, Inya has worked with numerous Indigenous, industry, and government clients, notably acting as Blueberry River First Nations' Lead Negotiator for oil, gas, and hydro and Strategic Advisor to the Chief Councillor from 2017-2022.
Inya’s experience, skills, and training in resolving complex issues and dealing with high-stake competing interests has taught her the need for strategic thinking, a strong awareness of optics, and lasting sustainable solutions.
